Alumnae organization works to keep Judson items together at latest sale

Though there was little warning beforehand, Judson College let alumnae know last week that a sale of antiques from the campus would happen on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Brittany House Antiques in Oak Hill, Ala.
This is the second such sale of items from Judson’s collection. The first was held in January on the campus of the school in Marion.
Following that sale, the school announced that all of the wrought iron benches from around the campus have been sold.
Always A Judson, an alumnae organization formed to help raise money to save the school during its final days last year, was present at the sale to acquire what items it could. The organization plans to display the items together as a collection once a suitable home for them is found.
At the Brittany House sale, Always A Judson purchased the following: a secretary, tall mirror in first alcove of Jewett parlors, tall mirror with velvet benches from Jewett hallway by president’s office, a dining room table from the president’s home, a side table from the presidents home, a small display cabinet from the Jewett parlor, a registration table from Jewett parlor (an alumna purchased a second registration table and has offered to donate their piece so the two can be presented as a set), and a wrought iron bench from front of Jewett (donated by an alumna).
