Hatch starts ‘23 with a school first: new softball team’s first game is Feb. 21

Robert C. Hatch High School has started the new semester with their first ever softball team.

A group of girls formed under the leadership of Coach Jammie Abrahams to become the first softball team for the Bobcats. The team ranges in ages and grades from middle to high school, and will start playing against other teams in the region such as Calhoun and Linden beginning February 21.

Dudley Long of Uniontown has been sponsoring the team and cheering for them, both on and off the field. In a social media post, Long praised the team for their inspiring words and for wanting “to try something new.”

The first of citywide sports to start off the year in Uniontown, with the recent sports interest meeting at City Hall, more sports are to come for Uniontown later this year.
