MMI will hold annual Family Weekend Oct. 6-7

Marion Military Institute (MMI) is gearing up to host its Family Weekend 2023 on October 6th and 7th. The institute extends a warm invitation to the families of cadets to join in a weekend filled with activities, bonding, and a glimpse into the life of an MMI cadet.

The two-day event will kick off with Check-In and Registration at 9:00 am on both days at the QM Student Center. Families can look forward to a packed schedule, including guided tours, athletic events, and opportunities to meet the faculty. The weekend will conclude with the lowering of the colors around 3:00 pm on Saturday, after which cadets are free to spend the remainder of the weekend with their families.

For those planning to attend, here are some key details: Arrival & Check-In: Upon reaching the campus, guests are required to check in at the QM Student Center. They will receive information packets, schedules, and other essential details at this point.

Dining Options: The QM Student Center Grill and Dining Facility will be open for guests. Additionally, a variety of food trucks will be stationed on campus, offering diverse lunch and dinner options on Friday and lunch on Saturday. Outdoor seating arrangements, including tents and picnic tables, will also be set up for guests.

The event promises a mix of educational and recreational activities. Highlights from the schedule include a guided tour of Historic Marion and the Alabama Military Hall of Honor, a two-man golf scramble, scrimmages, athletic practices, and a special meetand- greet with President & Mrs. Mollahan. The highlight of Saturday’s events will be the Mother’s Review, a grand parade by the Corps of Cadets.
