Main Street ‘Community Engagement Day’ set for May 18 here

Main Street Marion, a nonprofit, will be sponsoring an event entitled “Creating a Community Engagement Day” on Saturday, May 18, from 9 AM to 3 PM in downtown Marion.

The Tuskegee University Meat Science Lab will be offering a demonstration as a particular point of interest during the event. Alongside this, there will be a tree planting, music, recreation, and a barbecue cook-off.

District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr., will be a featured guest and speaker for the event, meant to inspire community interaction and connection. Other supporters of the event include the Alabama Extension Service, in particular the Perry County Extension Office, and the University of Alabama’s Honors College students-in-residence.
