Fired U’town asst. chief arrested for threatening city hall employees with gun

Ronnie Clarke, the former assistant police chief of the Uniontown Police Department, was arrested on August 21 following a disturbing incident at City Hall. According to a statement released by the Uniontown Police Department, Clarke, who had been recently fired, entered City Hall carrying a loaded firearm and made death threats toward city employees.

The arrest came after law enforcement was alerted to the situation, and Clarke was taken into custody at the scene. District Attorney Robert Turner Jr. confirmed Clarke’s identity and his recent termination, which also included the police chief. Both were dismissed from their positions prior to the incident.

Clarke had a long career in law enforcement, with 15 years of experience, four of which were with the Uniontown Police Department.

His service was recognized in 2023 when he was named Officer of the Year by both the Uniontown Police Department and CrimeStoppers.
