September is Hunger Action Month, steps you can take to help out

September is Hunger Action Month and the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama (CFB) and Feeding America is encouraging the public to make every action matter. During the month-long campaign, CFB will be raising awareness and inspiring action across central Alabama.

“With one in six people and one in five children experiencing food insecurity in central Alabama, every action matters when we come together as a community to support our neighbors facing hunger,” said Nicole Williams, Chief Executive Officer at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. “This Hunger Action Month, we’re encouraging the community to take one action for our neighbors, whether it be volunteering, spreading the word on social media, or donating food items, it adds up.”

Hunger Action Month is a time for everyone in the community to collectively act against hunger. You can choose action. You can choose to volunteer or raise awareness. You can choose to help end hunger. Learn more about how you can take action by visiting feedingal.org/hungeractionmonth.
