Youth league baseball starts in Marion on June 6

Youth baseball is coming to the city of Marion starting Monday, June 6th. The league was started and is overseen by Marion City Councilmember Bernard Arrington. Teams plan to play on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The first game is Monday, June 6th at 5:45. The league is sponsored by the Perry County County Commission and Earleen Clayton & Associates.

Teams have been practicing at the MMI Drill Field and the ballpark on Magnolia Street for several weeks now and are ready to put their skills to the test.

Arrington that he founded the league to benefit the youth of Marion, adding, “It’s a good way to see the kids have fun, keep them involved, keep them off the streets and keep them focused.”
