Marion man arrested on charges of trafficking methamphetamine

Complaint also includes charges related to possession of multiple other substances

State agents arrested a Perry County man on multiple drug charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, on June 14. Robert Paul Underwood, 55, of Marion, was apprehended by officers and is currently being held in Perry County Jail, according to court records.

Underwood faces several drug-related charges, as outlined in the official criminal complaint filed in the District Court of Perry County. The charges include:

Trafficking methamphetamine, specifically for knowingly possessing 28 grams or more of methamphetamine at or near his residence on Coretta Scott King Highway. Multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, including powder cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, hydrocodone, alprazolam, and Adderall.

Possession of marijuana in the second degree for personal use.

Bond for Underwood has been set at $121,000. He has been assigned legal representation by appointed attorney William Allison Holmes.

Underwood’s initial court appearance took place on June 14, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 17.
