Mercedes-Benz USA’s virtual hiring event ends this Friday, May 6

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is continuing its drive to hire several hundred new Team Members, with generous benefits, including an attractive starting wage. MBUSI must grow its workforce in large part to keep up with growing demand for its current vehicles, as well as recruit new Team Members who will be helping to build the plant’s new electric vehicles and electric batteries for its products.
From May 2nd-May 6th, West AlabamaWorks! is partnering with Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) to hold a virtual hiring event. Job seekers can expect the full-time, permanent production positions to be direct hires with Day-One eligibility for all MBUSI’s benefit programs.
“MBUSI has on-boarded hundreds of direct hires over the last 6 months and still has several hundreds more Team Members to hire,” said Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama Chief Operating Officer and West Alabama Works Executive Director Donny Jones.
“Our production continues to accelerate and evolve, and we are constantly growing the team we’ve built,” said Wade Smith, Human Resources Specialist for Mechatronics Technical Programs, MBUSI. “I’ve been here 27 years and I wouldn’t change a thing. MBUSI is seeking to reach workers with production experience, especially those in the auto industry, and less-experienced workers who have completed manufacturing training programs,” said Smith.
Since October 2021, MBUSI in Vance, Alabama has hired hundreds of new Team Members. The openings at the auto manufacturing facility in Tuscaloosa County and its recent Battery Factory in Bibb County represent a prime opportunity for career seekers. Just last week Mercedes unveiled its’ newest EQS Sport Utility Vehicle, which will be built in-house and using batteries also built in Alabama. The Tuscaloosa County plant will also add the EQE SUV later this year.
“We have exciting times ahead of us,” said Rolf Wrona Vice President of Human Resources, Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. “We recently celebrated 25 years of production in Alabama and the transformation we have seen is astounding. Our being able to offer future-proof jobs to build all-electric SUVs for all global markets is something worth celebrating”, said Wrona.
To participate in the virtual hiring event, job seekers must complete a profile online at www.westalabamajobs.com/MBUSI they will receive a follow-up via email or through text message within 24 hours.
