On June 12, 4-H campers from Hale and Perry counties arrived at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana for their summer camp program.
Campers participated in a variety of activities such as paddle-boarding and kayaking. Zip-lining, volleyball, archery, swimming, and rock climbing were among some other activities enjoyed by the group. There were also lessons on wildlife, particularly reptiles, with the opportunity to touch a non venomous snake, a lizard, and to interact with a turtle.
Upon concluding their week-long camp session, campers convened with campers from the Tallapoosa, Chilton, and Coosa County Extension Offices for S’mores by the Fire Night, which saw campers making their own fire and enjoying sweet summer treats.
