Goshen Lodge celebrated Easter with free community egg hunt celebration on March 30

For over a decade, under the leadership of Worshipful Master Cad Ford, Jr., the brothers of Goshen Lodge #132, F. & A.M.-PHA, of Marion, Alabama, have welcomed the community to a free, safe, and fun Easter Egg Hunt Celebration. This year the lodge held the event on Saturday, March 30th, a picture-perfect spring day. As always, a large crowd began to form about minutes before the hunt was set to begin. Following a prayer by Brother Reverend Adrian Knox and instructions to the children by Marvin Gaye Bennett, the lodge’s Sr. Warden, the crowd burst into egg-hunting action, rapidly finding almost two thousand hard-boiled and colored eggs. Following the hunt, all present were able to feast on treats of cool fruity juices, an assortment of chips, and freshly grilled hot dogs. So that no child was left empty handed, the lodge presented all with baskets and monetary prizes. Smiles, giggles, peace, and harmony abounded all over Lincoln Park, where the event has been held since its inception.

The free event is held and sponsored by the group each year to celebrate the season and provide a positive, funfilled and memory creating event for the community, especially the children. The lodge would like to thank all the participants for coming out and having an enjoyable time, the Lincolnites for always providing the park; and local media outlets, WJUS radio station, The Marion Times Standard and The Perry County Herald for helping to promote the event. The lodge hopes everyone had a safe, blessed, and Happy Easter!!!
