Kynard-Smith took office as Perry County’s new Revenue Commissioner following her appointment by Governor Kay Ivey and a swearing-in ceremony held Monday, February 9.
Kynard-Smith’s appointment was formalized in a notice she received from the Governor on February 5. The vacancy was created by the retirement of longtime Revenue Commissioner Christine Jackson, which became effective January 31.
Kynard-Smith was sworn in by Circuit Judge Marvin Wiggins. She was accompanied at the ceremony by her husband and other family members.
