Disaster relief available for homeowners in Perry, Hale, Chilton

There is Disaster Relief Assistance being offered to homeowners suffering damage from severe weather. Homeowners in Hale, Perry, Bibb, and Chilton Counties that have been impacted by recent tornadoes will have a chance to claim assistance to cover the damages incurred by the recent weather. Homeowners must own the home damaged, or have a relative willing to sign a Life Use Agreement. In addition, homeowners must have been uninsured at the time of the storm, and have applied to FEMA in relation to the March 25th storms. Applicants must also have applied for and been denied funding from the SBA. If homeowners have been approved by the SBA, must be willing to use the funds to replace or repair their homes. Applicants cannot own multiple homes or properties, or possess the resources to fund their own recovery. Homeowners that wish to move back into their damaged homes once repaired or replaced, will be a top priority for the program. Those interested are encouraged to contact the Hale County Library in Greensboro at 1103 Main Street or at 334-624-3409, for more information.
