Marion Junction man dies in car crash Saturday

On Saturday, February 19, a single-vehicle car crash near Selma claimed the life of a man from Marion Junction.

Reese A. Peterson, 45, suffered mortal injuries when the SUV he was driving veered off the road, before striking a mailbox, then hitting a utility pole. The wreck was on Alabama Highway 219, near mile marker 1, approximately two miles west of Selma.

Peterson passed away at Baptist Medical Center South, where he was transported after the crash. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the cause of the incident.
