Southern finishes season in game two of state playoffs, sends four to AISA All-Star game on Dec. 2

Southern Academy Varsity football ended their football season with new head coach Chris Hilliker with a trip to the second round of playoffs. Their final season record was 5-6.

Top players this season were Senior running back Wesley Hall lead the team in tackles with 87 for the year. Wesely also had 380 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns.

Campbell Webb

Junior quarterback Campbell Webb rushed for 1020 yards. He scored a total of 19 touchdowns for the Cougars this season, 16 rushing, 2 returns and 1 defensive. He completed 34 of 67 passes with 5 passing touchdowns.

Senior wide receiver Gabe Haney rushed for 176 yards and scores 4 touchdowns this season.

Senior football player Wesely Hall and Senior cheerleaders Madeline Sealy, Anna Sellers and Hannah Whaley were chosen as AISA All Stars and will compete for the East Side in the AISA All Start game on December 2, 2022 at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama.
