PUBLIC NOTICE

The Town of Akron is considering making application to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Program Loan.

In order to inform the citizens of Akron of components of the program, a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at the Akron Town Hall located at 207 1st Avenue South Akron, AL 35441. An Environmental Information Document will be available for public review at the Akron Town Hall during business hours. Citizens will be informed at such meeting regarding the nature and extent of proposed activities, amount of funding available and time frames for the program year.

Further, The Town of Akron will be accepting comments on the application for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management’s DWSRF Loan Fund for the purpose of the Water System Improvements. Every citizen in attendance will be afforded the opportunity to express their views of the program and needs of the community. Citizens, who wish, may submit their comments in writing to:

Perry County is taking sealed bids for labor, equipment, materials and any incidentals required to complete the work required for the RESURFACE ON PERRY COUNTY ROAD 45 APPROXIMATELY 4.50 MILES FROM DALLAS COUNTY LINE TO PERRY COUNTY ROAD 6. This bid is intended to comply with the Rebuild Alabama Act, No. 2019-2, and the Alabama Code Title 39, of the Alabama Public Works Law. Bidders shall be required to comply with the provisions of the Rebuild Alabama Act, No. 2019-2 and Title 39 of the Alabama Code regardless if the requirement is explicitly detailed in the bid proposal or not.

Only bids from contractors or material suppliers listed on the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) approved list of contractors and materials suppliers will be accepted. All bids must be marked with the word “BID” on the outside of the bid package along with Bid Proposal for the RESURFACE ON PERRY COUNTY ROAD 45 APPROXIMATELY 4.50 MILES FROM THE DALLAS LINE TO THE PERRY COUNTY ROAD 6, the bid date and the Alabama General Contractor’s License Number.

The contractor shall meet all Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) Bonding and Licensing requirements as well as all applicable laws, ordinances and codes of the U.S. Government, the State of Alabama, any relevant municipality, and the COUNTY, and, specifically, and without limitation, shall comply with all provisions of the Beason-Hammond Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act, commonly referred to as the Immigration Act.

Sealed bids will be received by the Perry County Commission at the Perry County Courthouse, 300 Block Washington Street., Marion, AL 36756, until 10:00 A.M. Central Time on March 27, 2023 and then publicly opened as soon thereafter as practicable. Award will be made at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Perry County Commission.

No bids will be received after the time set forth hereinabove; and the Bids will be publicly opened and read. No refunds will be made except to Prime Contractor Bidders, which shall be refunded for one bid set.

The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred (100%) of the bid amount and a Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount and must secure his bond from a bonding company’s representative or agent in the State of Alabama.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving Bids.

The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 75 consecutive calendar days total and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF THE CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner.

The contractor shall note that funds for this project are provided through DWSRF (Drinking Water State Revolving Funds). All Applicable Federal Guidelines must be met. There will be a Pre-Bid meeting.
