Part of the mission of Hale County Hospital is to strengthen ties with our community partners. Over the last few years, Hale County Hospital has partnered with Project Horseshoe Farm, a local Community Health Non-Profit with its location on Main Street in Greensboro, in providing a Hospital Track for fellows that dedicate a year of service to the greater Hale County Community. Last week we said goodbye to our 2022- 2023 fellows, Fedra Britvic and Jumoke Sanusi. This week we are presenting the 2023-2024 New Hospital Fellows Mackenzie Christensen and Walker Ferry!
Mackenzie is a second year Project Horseshoe Farm Fellow who spent the 2022-2023 year as a Community Health Fellow. This year she will be joining the Hospital Track. Mackenzie hails from Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Public Policy and Women’s Studies. Mackenzie is excited to see a different part of the community and better understand how community health is dependent on a successfully functioning health system.
Walker is a first year Project Horseshoe Farm Fellow and happens to be an Alabama local from Tuscaloosa! Walker graduated in May from Washington University in Saint Louis with a degree in Psychology. Walker is excited to see how a rural hospital prioritizes building and fostering meaningful relationships with community partners and with its patients. Hale County Hospital is so grateful for the Hospital Track part of Project Horseshoe Farm and is thrilled to be welcoming yet another incredible fellowship cohort for the 2023-2024 year!
