Uniontown man charged in break-in at former Alabama Power building

One man has been charged recently with breaking into the former Alabama Power office building in Uniontown last year. The alleged break-in occurred on June 6, 2022, according to court documents.

The defendant, Roddricus Cordell Maiten, was arrested on July 6, 2023, and the case was filed on July 10, 2023, in Perry County District Court. Maiten is charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglar’s tools, and third-degree criminal mischief. Bond was set at $30,000 and Maiten was released on the same day of his arrest.

The case is currently in the pre-trial phase, with the first court call scheduled for August 15.
