Linda “Cooter” Cristwell, 66, of Centerville was taken to her heavenly home on July 26, 2023, as the result of a kayaking accident on her beloved Cahaba River. Funeral services were held at her home in Centerville on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with her brothers Jack and Allen Cristwell officiating and family and friends in attendance.
Linda graduated from Bibb County High School and was employed at Healthtex for many years. She retired as service manager at Progressive Service Center in Marion.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucille Cristwell of Centerville; brothers, Earl Cristwell of Chicago, Jerry Cristwell, William “Bubba” Cristwell, and an infant boy, all of Centerville; sisters, Doris “Dot” Nichols (Bobby) and Janie Emfinger (Jimmy) both of Centerville. She is survived by three brothers, Jack Cristwell (Cathy) of Pensacola, Allen “Duck” Cristwell (Mary Ann) of Centerville, and Tommy Cristwell (Ellen) of Demopolis; two sisters, B.J. Hoggle (Johnny) of Selma and Glenda “Hootie” Cristwell of Centerville, and many nieces and nephews. Her ashes, as she wished, were spread where she was the happiest.
