Man dies in wreck near Uniontown Monday

A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, has claimed the life of a Marion Junction man. John L. Sullivan, 69, was fatally injured when the 2013 Ford F-150 that he was driving struck the trailer of the 1993 White WG42T tractortrailer driven by William A. Deyampert, 65, of Marion.

Sullivan was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Perry County 12 near Tolbert Warren Road, approximately six miles east of Uniontown, in Perry County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Sullivan, known to friends and family as ‘Big Baby,’ was born July 26, 1954. Funeral arrangements were incomplete as of press time, but have been entrusted to Phillip White’s Julia L. White Funeral Home of Uniontown.
