Bond set at $400,000 for G’boro man charged with assault, robbery

Marquis Jackson of Greensboro, 33, was indicted Nov. 30 in Hale County Circuit Court on charges including first-degree assault. Jackson was arrested in Greensboro on March 30, 2023 for offenses that allegedly took place March 24 of that year, including assault, first-degree robbery, and first-degree burglary.

Jackson was being held with no bond while the case proceeded through district court to the Grand Jury. After the indictment was returned and a Circuit Court file was opened in Jackson’s case Jan. 9, the case was assigned to Circuit Judge Marvin Wiggins. According to court documents, Jackson was still being held in jail as of press time, with his bond set at $400,000.00. No hearings had yet been set, and no further information available, as of press time.
