Akron man indicted in Hale Circuit Court on charges including attempted arson

Jerome Jackson, 40, of Akron, was indicted in Hale County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree attempted arson. Jackson was arrested on Aug. 7 of 2023 on that charge as well as third-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief.

While the indictment was returned on Nov. 30 of 2024, the case did not appear as a Circuit Court filing until January 9, when it was assigned Circuit Judge Collins Pettway.

Jackson, according to court records, is still being held in jail on the charges, with a bond set at $5,800.00. No hearing dates have yet been set in the case, and no further information was available from public court filings as of press time.
