Nellie Harris, 82, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on March 30, 2025. A public viewing was held Friday, April 4, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Akron New Cemetery on Gewin Street in Akron, Alabama, with Reverend Eric Prewitt officiating.
Mrs. Harris was born May 12, 1942, to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Betric Harris in Tuscaloosa. She joined the church at an early age and was a member of Bethlehem A.M.E. Church in Glen Hill.
She is survived by her lifelong partner, Charles Patton Sr.; one brother, Oscar (Johnnie Mae) Mahan of Tuscaloosa; one sister-in-law, Lilley Harris of New Jersey; along with other sisters-in-law, brothers- in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Dorothy Jackson.
