LEGAL NOTICE

Relating to Perry County; to establish a new voting center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. There is established a new voting center in Perry County to serve the voters of Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4. The new voting center shall be located at the New National Guard Armory building located at 620 Magnolia Street, Marion, Alabama, 36756.

Section 2. This act shall become immediately effective.

NOTICE TO SUPPLIERS AND CONTRACTORS
INVITATION FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Marion until March 10, 2026, at 10:00 A.M, local time, for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and doing the work of constructing, according to Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents on file in the office of the Owner, the improvements hereinafter described.

No bids will be received after the time set forth hereinabove, and the Bids will be publicly opened and read. If your Bid Documents are mailed, they should be received prior to March 10, 2026, 10:00 A.M. of the Bid Date at the City of Marion 123 E. Jefferson Street, Marion, Alabama 36756.

The work of constructing the City of Marion 123 E. Jefferson Street, Marion, Alabama 36756 City of Marion Source Water Rehabilitation Project involves Contract “A” AMR Water Meter Replacement Project – Material Only and Contract “B” AMR Water Meter Replacement Project – Installation Only – EPA Community Grant CG – 05D44825-0 DWSRF Project No. FS010248-03. The principal items of work are detailed herein below.

This is a Build America/Buy America (BABA) Project and a letter from manufacturers will be required for all material used in the project.

Principal Work:

Contract “A” Principal Work:

  1. Furnish (Only) Approximately 1,215 AMR Meters
  2. Furnish Approximately 750 Meter Boxes
  3. Furnish 607 Backflow Valves
  4. Furnish 415 Curb Stops
  5. Furnish Data Collection Unit w/Start-Up and Support
  6. Furnish Applicable Software
  7. Furnish Ancillary System Support

Contract “B” Principal Work:

  1. Install (Only) Approximately 1215 AMR Meters
  2. Install Approximately 750 Meter Boxes
  3. Install (Only) 607 Backflow Valves
  4. Install (Only) 415 Curb Stop

Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents are open to public inspection at the office of Owner, the City of Marion, 123 E. Jefferson Street, Marion, Alabama 36756 or may be obtained from the office of the Engineers, Utility Engineering Consultants, LLC, 135 Gemini Circle, Suite 211, Homewood, Alabama 35209 upon deposit of $50.00 per set.

The deposit shall be refunded in full to each prime supplier submitting a bid. Additional sets for prime contractors’ bidders, subcontractors, vendors, or dealers may be obtained upon payment of the same deposit.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving Bids.

On Contract “A” the Supplier is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 60 consecutive calendar days total and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF THE CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED.

The Supplier may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages.

On Contract “B” the Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 275 consecutive calendar days total and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF THE CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED.

The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages.

The Contractor shall note that funds for this project are provided through an EPA Community Grant and SRF ARPA Funds. All applicable Federal guidelines must be met.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner. There will be no Prebid Conference.
