Kathryn Smith Holifield, 89, died Aug. 26. She was born Feb. 20, 1937.
She was a member of New Harvest Church of God, where she loved her church family, and she was devoted to the Lord and to reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Hill Smith and Walker Smith; her sister, Mary Louise Ingalsbe; her great-grandsons, Cody McDaniel and Kody Jolly; and many others.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Dozier Holifield; her children, Kenny Holifield (Mary Sue), Kathy Martin (Jimmy), Patricia Holifield, Lonie Parsons (Arthur) and Rebecca Snow (Robert); 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to noon at New Harvest Church of God in Vance, with the funeral service following at noon. Burial was at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Heiberger, with Bishop Danny Murray officiating.
Pallbearers were Bradley McDaniel, Kaden Atchley, Travis Jolly, Bradin King, Jesse Martin, Joe Martin, Kaleb Stacey and Karson Pollard.
Rockco Funeral Home directed arrangements.
