The Annie Essex Memorial Scholarship Committee has announced four recipients of its 2026 academic scholarships, all of them graduating seniors at Francis Marion High School.
Erianna D. Jones and Leondra K. Rawls received Annie Essex Memorial Academic Achievement Scholarship Awards. Jeremiah J. Kynard and MyKayla W. McCants received Complimentary Academic Achievement Scholarship Awards.
The committee reported no participants from Robert C. Hatch High School in Uniontown this year.
Family and friends of the late Annie Essex established the fund in 2005 to award scholarships to graduating seniors in the Perry County School System. The committee said the program keeps Essex’s legacy of service and generosity alive while promoting and increasing educational opportunities for students in the system.
Recipients are selected in recognition of academic excellence, community service, citizenship participation, commitment to higher education and promotion of Essex’s legacy, according to the committee.
The committee thanked those who supported this year’s program.
