World War II veteran Henry Clellan Weaver celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday, February 7th, 2026. On hand to mark the special occasion was his two daughters, one daughter-with-love, 12 grandchildren, and 13.5 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-grand nieces and nephews, and one great, great-grand niece and three great, great-grand nephews. Neighbors, friends, local veterans, and former railroad buddies came as well. There were visitors from Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia. Mr. Weaver received written birthday wishes from President Donald Trump, the Railroad Retirement Board, relatives, and friends.
Mr. Weaver proudly served his country in World War II. After coming home from the Philippines, he drove a school bus while finishing high school at Clarke County High School in Grove Hill, Alabama. He then hired out with Southern Railroad as a station agent, traveling all over Alabama to serve in different depots across the state. After nearly 40 years with the railroad, he retired to his farm in west Perry to raise cattle and enjoy his family.
