William Edward Tutt Jr., 25, of Montevallo, was arrested on Sunday, April 13, 2026, on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with an incident on or about April 4 in Perry County.
According to the complaint filed in Perry County District Court, Tutt allegedly entered or remained unlawfully in a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime therein. While effecting entry—or while in the dwelling or in immediate flight—he is accused of causing physical injury to two individuals by assaulting them.
Tutt is also accused of recklessly causing serious physical injury to one of the victims by striking them multiple times, as well as damaging the exterior wall of the dwelling in an amount not exceeding $500.
As of April 14, Perry County District Court records listed the defendant’s status as jailed, with no bond amount set. An initial appearance hearing was scheduled for April 15.
