Carol ‘Regina’ Lewis

Carol “Regina” Lewis died Sunday, August 14 at the age of 59. She was born October 29, 1962 in Hale County to the late Willie “Feb” Lewis, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Lewis. At an early age, she made a profession of faith in Christ and later joined Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. She was a proud graduate of Sunshine High School, Class of 1982. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Willie Lewis. 

Survivors include two daughters, Tawanna Lewis and Erika Garrett of Newbern; grandson, Kameron Hinton of Newbern; siblings, Sheila of Selma, Willie James Jr. of Newbern, Pauline of Tuscaloosa, and Lovell of Muscle Shoals; seven nieces, Tashiba Jones, Cicely Turner, Aja Harris, Jayla Harris, Kiara Watkins, Jasmine Moore, and Sentoria Moore; two nephews, John Lewis and Keith Watkins; three aunts, Georgia Martin of Kenner, La., Verla Black of Cleveland, and Irene Lewis of Newbern; and special friends, Jackie Quarles, Rita Greene, Lena Barker-Barnfield, Gloria Royal, and Rosa Valentine. 

Funeral services were held graveside on Sunday, Aug. 21 at Curry Grove Cemetery in Newbern with Minister Ethel Foster officiating and Washington and Paige Mortuary directing.
